Konitsky reported in 1843: During nine months of 1843 I obtained from the insoluble residues, as well as from the iron {byproduct}, 122 Funt of iridium oxide, ie, for the sum of 1 million Francs (after Paris Price-current of 80 Francs pr. Drachma). The St. Petersburg Mint is now provided with a so far rare and precious metal in Europe.
