France, 1859: Paris Catalogue Prices (Breton)

Ingot and scrap appears to represent the same Paris 'market price' by 1857/8, where the technology to re-melt and the inconvenience of re-working impure Russian ingot equalized cost.  The US Platinum price is nearly 100% higher than the Paris Price.

1857: 1 Troy Oz. Platinum (scrap) = Fr 23.33 (USD$ 4.54)
1858: 1 Ozt. Platinum (scrap) = Fr 18.66 (USD$ 3.63)

1858: 1 Ozt. Platinum (scrap) = USD $ 8.

Despite any decline in wholesale or global prices, from 1859 - 1866, retail platinum in Paris apparently rose 50%, with increasing demand or inflation.

J. Molteni & Cie. Paris: "Platinum objects also pay at Fr. 1.25 per Gramme; however, the manufacture of each costs differently and varies according to the difference between the pieces." Platinum Fine Wire was 2x the Price for Fine Silver Wire; 3.14x the Base Intrinsic for Wares. The Goldware Base Price was 2.88x Platinum Base.
