Russia, 1876: Manufactured Platinum Prices

Because the Russians were not refining and selling manufactured finished Platinum products, these were imported from London, Paris, and German houses.  Foreign exchange & duties may have been a factor in Russian "high prices,"which were still cheaper than UK retail or US retail several years earlier.

The Russian Pound (funt) = 13.17 English Troy Ounces or 0.4095 kg.  The Russian weight was the Zolotnik, less than 4 Grams = 7.2914432 Zolotnik = 1 Ozt.

Quoting £ 14. per English Troy Pound of platina at .999 Fine, @ руб 6.63/£ = руб 4,073.6/Poud, which is far too high; likely, this is a retail (not Bulk) rate for Russian ore delivered to or sold in UK, after middlemen, etc.

c.1872: 1 Ozt Platinum (UK: Bulk Ore/.999)  = £ 1.167
