UK, 1860s: Platinum Price

In the early part of the 1860s, the British price continued a steady decline, and Refined Platinum may have dropped 20% in 1861 following Deville's famous paper.

1859/60: 1 Troy Ounce Platinum (ore, at purity) = £ 1.20 (USD$ 5.82)
1859/60: 1 Troy Ounce Platinum (refined, retail) = £ 1.60 (USD$ 7.11)

1860: 1 Troy Ounce Platinum (refined, wholesale?) = £ 1.50 (USD$ 7.28)
1861: 1 Troy Ounce Platinum (refined, wholesale?) = £ 1.23 (USD$ 5.84)
1862: 1 Troy Ounce Platinum (refined, whols.) = £ 1.20 (USD$ 6.67)
