Suisse, 1838

Presumably calculating in the Swiss fluid ounce (not an English ounce, nor the long since abandoned Paris once)  Dr. Melly in Geneva assumed '1 once = 27cc' so "15 once de l'eau" is 405 cc (or 13.69 US fluid ounces, 14.25 British Imperial ounces.)

By volume, a 400 cc dish weighed about 105 g; a platinum vase of 3.3735 Ozt. for "at least" Sw.Fr. 200 implies a very high cost (import duty?) exaggerated:

c.1836: 1 Troy Oz. Platinum (Mfg, Ret) = Sw.Fr Sw 59.29 (USD$ 11.16)

At nearly 1/10th the price, the plated manufacture (w/ 14 g platinum) would cost just SwFr 30, all labor and materials.

USA, 1868-75: Investogation of Chemical Markups

The retail charge to University of Michigan students was 40-60% over currency rates, but as high as 300% for some rarer chemicals & reagents.  It is entirely reasonable to assume that Platinum (among the rarest elements) was also subject to the high mark-ups.

Clearly, the retail price charged was much, much higher than wholesale catalogue prices.

UK, 1883: Retail Foil

10/1883: 1 Troy Ounce Platinum (UK: Mfg, Retail) ~ £ 1.5381 ("Fr. 38.88")

1883: 1 Troy Oz. Pt (London, bulk) ~ £ 1.55 (USD$ 7.52)

Citation: The Electrical Engineer, Vol. 15, No. 254, 3/15/1893 p.268

1883: 1 Troy Oz. Platinum (Semi-Mfg, Ret.) = £ 1.80 (USD$ 8.73)

USA, 1892: Retail Cost (Reference)

1892: 1 Troy Ounce platina (Colombia: Ore, Export) ~USD$ 12.90
1892: 1 Troy Oz. Pt (Colombia: Ore, .999) =~USD$ 15.63

Retail receipts for refined Platinum products most nearly approximate retail investor cost.  Price comparisons in relation to this 1892 NYC Importers' Catalogue indicate the retail cost was ~33% higher than wholesale products in the same year.

Where "2 Plain Crucibles, 15 cc 34.4 gms" weighed 17.2 g./ea., and "4 Crucibles platinum, 15 cc, plain, 11.15 gms" weighed 11.15 g./ea., the difference 6.06 g ought to be the Cover.; consistent with Catalogue explanations, the Cover ought to be ~35% of the total weight.

 Where Platinum Crucibles cost $0.65/Gram:
1892: 1 Ozt. Platinum (Mfg, Ret.) = USD$ 20.22

1892: 1 Troy Ounce platina (Ore, Retail) = USD$ 16.46

1892: 1 Ozt. Platinum (Scrap, Ret.) = USD$ 15.55
1892: 1 Ozt. Platinum (Foil: Semi-Mfg, Ret.) = USD$ 18.66
1892: 1 Ozt. Platinum (Mfg, Ret.) = USD$ 20.22 - 27.90

Citation: Report, Issues 19-40 ; University of Minnesota. Agricultural Experiment Station (1892) p.29

Citation: Catalogue of minerals and mineralogical books, Albert E. Foote (1892) p.21

This estimation is correct almost to the penny.
