In 1871, Russian platina from Tagilsk was indicated as 75% Pt, 1.1% Pd, 3.5% Rh, 2.6% Ir, Os-Ir 0.6%, 2.3% Os, 0.4% Au (15% other) with 9.4% of the PGMs held by the refiner as cost.  Where the Zollpfund is 500 g., 1 kg Russian Pt (at purity) cost Fl 302.90 in Europe.

Das rohe Platin wird von den Privaten meist nach England und Frankreich verkauft, wobei man pro Zollpfund reines Platin 151 fl. 45 kr. österr. W. zahlt; die anderen Metalle werden nicht vergütet. Die 1828 begonnene Prägung von Platinmünzen ist 1845 in Folge des bedeutend zurückgegangenen Handelswerthes des Platins eingestellt. Zur Hebung der Platinproduction hat die Regierung Erleichterungen im Raffiniren, in der Besteuerung und im Verkauf des Platins gewährt. 

The crude platinum is sold by the private sector, mostly to England and France, paid at the rate of 151.45 Florins Austrian W. per Zollpfund of pure platinum; the other metals will not be reimbursed. The coining of platinum began in 1828 and ended in 1845, as a result of significantly lower trading valency of platinum.  A rising standard of platinum production, the government has granted concessions in the refining, taxation and sale of platinum.

Variation in prices among vendors/by location was probably significant, here.
