USA, 1903: St. Louis Catalogue (Heil Co.)

The Heil Catalogue of 1903/4 identifies weight-volume ratios and 'manufacturing cost' for many refined Platinum products.

Unless wages were suddenly rising or technology improving, this estimation for the 'manufacturing cost' likely informs other proximate years.

"Supposing the list price to be $1.25 per gram" in 1903/4, the unmanufactured Platinum price is USD$ 38.88. (The prices of ordinary, unrefined ingot fell to $18.50 for all 1904. Ingot platina did not reach $38./oz. until 1906/7, briefly. Obviously, NY ingot price was neither "list" nor "market price" in catalogues.)

September, 1903: 1 Troy Ounce Platinum (ingot, 85%, market) = USD$ 19.
Sept. 1903/4: 1 Troy Ounce Platinum (semi-mfg, retail) = USD$ 34.21 - 38.88

1903/4: 1 Troy Ounce Silver (market) = USD$ 0.5288
1903/4: 1 Troy Ounce Silver (pure, retail) = USD$ 2.18

1903/4:

The trade price of allegedly pure Platinum foil fell -13.8% in 1903.

1902: 1 Troy Ounce Platinum (semi-mfg, Trade) = USD$ 27.50

1903: 1 Troy Ounce platina (Russian ore, Spot) = USD$ 13.85
1903: 1 Troy Ounce Platinum (semi-mfg, Trade) ~ USD$ 23.71
