France, 1828-1845: Observations on the Platinum Price Fluctuations

Debased ingots allegedly factored in the Russian Platinum price decline, among other interesting allusions here.  Indeed, Speculations would repeatedly mark the Platinum market in decades to come.


1828?: 1 Troy Oz. Platinum (Russian mkt, semi-mfg)  = Fr 34.12 (USD$ 6.72)
1845: 1 Troy Oz. Platinum (Russian mkt, semi-mfg)  = Fr 24.88 (USD$ 4.79)
