Reporting late 1896 prices from April 1897 Russian journal. 

1896/7: 1 Troy Ounce platina (Russian ore, 84.5%) = 27.99
1896/7: 1 Ozt Pt (at purity) = 33.13
1896:1 Ozt. Pt (Ru Refiner Cost) ~ 1.25 (1.92 руб)
1896: 1 Ozt. Pt (Producer's Cost) ~ 34.38

January 1897: 1 Ozt. Platinum (Mkt) = ℳ 51.63

At the turn of the year 1895 Platinum cost 1,555 Marks per kilogram. In the spring of 1896 it was already 1,620; by January 1897 it cost 1,660. In the summer of the same year (1897) it was in the 1,700s.  In the Spring of 1898 in the 1,800's, in September 2,000. - and today it costs 2,250 Mark.
