Spain, 1869: Counterfeit Escudos
Citation: L'Économiste français, Vol.4, Pt. 2 (9/9/1876), p.350
The 4 Escudos Coin should weigh 3.3548 g. (0.10786 Ozt) with 3.0193 g. (0.0971 Ozt) Fine Gold. In alloy to mimic the .900 standard Gold of Spain, a full-weight Gold-plated Platinum planchet would be 81.5% Pt, 18.5% Cu, or ~ 2.73 g pure Platinum.
